Web Design Systems

Project: McKinsey.com

The modules and page templates behind McKinsey’s global digital ecosystem.

Templated, flexible page designs used across the dotcom ecosystem.

Role: Lead designer for module and page-template design, shaping how the system is expressed across the site and guiding global teams through adoption.

Challenge

McKinsey's global digital ecosystem spanned hundreds of pages for practices, industries, and capabilities, each communicating in its own voice with no shared narrative structure or design system.

Solution

Built reusable page templates and modules with best-practice UX and narrative structure, flexible enough to let every practice express its own content and voice within one consistent system. Personally guided practices through development, winning skeptical teams over case by case, through reasoning rather than authority.

Result

A consistent design system that spans all of McKinsey.com, from individual pages to entire sub-sites. It became the standard that enables site owners to create their own pages without design support, strengthening the McKinsey global brand.

Examples of standardized modules expressing distinct content and design needs.
